What do you think about ‘Superworm’?

Hi Year 1,

I know we all enjoyed reading and learning to tell the story ‘Superworm’ by Julia Donaldson & Axel Scheffler, but I was wondering what you thought about the story.  Please could you reply and let me know your ideas?  I have included some questions to get you thinking about what you might want to say.

  • Why do you like the story?
  • Which part of the story is your favourite?  Why?
  • If you were Superworm, how would you feel when you were rescued by your friends?  Why?
  • Do you think the evil Wizard is happy that he has been caught?  Why?

I can’t wait to read what you think about the story ‘Superworm’, happy commenting Year 1.

The children in Year 1 have been learning to tell the story ‘Superworm’ by Julia Donaldson & Axel Scheffler.  They are amazing at it, watch this space for the video of them retelling the story in a Pie Corbett style using actions.

Sniffer Dog Visits Year 1

The children in Year 1 had a visitor yesterday called Charlie. Charlie works as a sniffer dog, finding things that people shouldn’t have. The children were really excited about our visitor, they thought of some interesting questions to ask. Watch this space for photos of the children having their picture taken with Charlie.

Land Art – Photos

Hi Year 1

I was really impressed when you used ’2Simple – Photo Simple’ to edit your land art.  You produced some lovely images.  I wonder which one you liked the most?  I’d love to know why you like it too.

Can you remember which of the tools that we used to help us edit our work?

Looking forward to your replies.

Mrs J

‘Land Art’

In Year 1 we have been busy exploring work produced by the artist Andy Goldsworthy.  We collected lots of natural resources from our outdoor environments and created our own ‘Environmental Art’ in a similar way to Andy Goldsworthy.

Can you list some of the natural resources we collected and put in our art shop for you all to use?

What was your favourite part of creating your piece of ‘Land Art’?

Which is your favourite piece of ‘Land Art’ and why?  (It can’t be your own piece.)

If you had to change your piece of ‘Land Art’, what would you change and why?  Would you keep anything the same?

Looking forward to reading your ideas.

Mrs J
